Accounting Assistant

**General Overview**
As Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for providing accurate reporting for the daily payment plan, transaction reconciliations of the operations.
**Responsibilities**
- Assist accounting department in recording and reconciling all financial transactions of the operations, such as,
- AR, AP, accounting entries
- Upload credit card transactions; code and enter into system
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Maintain vendor files
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements with account balances
- Bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations
- Payroll processing
- Other duties as assigned including filing, data collection, assisting office administration and etc, book keeping
- Any other ad hoc duties related to payroll and accounting.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 1 year experience in private company accounting
- Ability to be flexible to support the Accounting Team in all areas of financial reporting, data collection
- Ability to work under pressure and to work additional time where necessary to meet deadlines.
- Ability to establish priorities, work and think independently, and proceed with objectives without direct supervision
- Excellent attention to detail
- Payroll knowledge will be an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Previous experience with Payworks and Sage 50 is an asset
- Legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada.
