The Opportunity Daily activities: FINANCIAL PILLAR- Support the achievement of branch financial objectives through effective and timely credit underwriting for new and existing borrowing opportunities, while balancing risk and reward in line with CWB’s risk appetite.- Assist the relationship managers in identifying full-service solutions for clients with the view to be every client’s primary financial partner.- Actively refer to other business partners both within branch banking and across CWB. CLIENT PILLAR- Support the branch strategy and client experience through effective and timely credit underwriting for new and existing borrowing opportunities.- Deliver exceptional client experiences at every interaction and execute on plans to continuously build the client experience, in line with CWB’s brand promise.- Support the relationships managers (directly and/or indirectly) in developing creative, competitive client solutions, leveraging internal partnerships and specialists where appropriate. SUPPORT PILLAR- Assist the Real Estate Lending team to manage a portfolio of construction loans and term mortgages.- Prepare credit submissions (new loan requests, renewals, annual reviews, amendments and credit memos) for new and existing clients.- Provide quality risk assessments and underwriting analysis by completing clear and concise loan presentations.- Under the direction of the Real Estate Lending team, participate in client meetings, analyze and evaluate loan proposals, structure, and prepare pricing recommendations and term sheets.- Provide loan management support to ensure loans are operated within credit, audit and compliance requirements.- Assist in analyzing and processing of monthly construction draw requests.- Work together with the Business Coordinators in the funding and management of real estate loans.- Work effectively both with management and support functions to ensure clients receive a high level of service.- Ensure efficient and effective operations with strong data integrity including strong collaboration with other CWB teams.- Complete all compliance training and attestations within required timelines.- Adhere to CWB policies/ procedures and Code of Conduct, keeping up to date with any new or revised guidelines. PEOPLE PILLAR- Embrace and support a positive environment that supports a fun, high-performing and diverse workforce.- Live the CWB cultural values of integrity, accountability, respect, common sense and caring every day.- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and cooperation skills, particularly with Relationship Manager partners.- Demonstrate analytical, problem solving skills and time management skills.- Actively prepare for and participate in the performance management and personal development processes Skills that will take you further- Responsible for managing credit risk on a portfolio of commercial real estate loans, which includes writing annual reviews, regular risk monitoring (often monthly and/or quarterly), obtaining reporting from customers as needed, and making recommendations to ensure the loan portfolio stays within CWB’s risk appetite.- Day to day first point of contact for client service.- This is an individual contributor role that works with supervision close by and within well established procedures and/or practices; however some judgement is required to achieve the end result.- Requirement to maintain an appropriate level of independence from sales functions, with need for facilitation and conflict management skills.- - Minimize operational losses and report all potential losses > $5,000 within 5 business days after month end Why work for us?
