Effective Corporate Security operations are essential to the delivery of simple, innovative and colleague friendly services to enable and provide the required services to our customers.
This role is responsible for ensuring that Aviva receives the right level of Corporate Security coordination by working with the Corporate Security Managers, Senior Manager of Corporate Security Canada while remaining engaged with Group Security Team. This ensures a safe and secure environment for our People, Business and Locations.
Judgment is needed to know when to engage and pull on the services of other teams and group functions while keeping a balance between customer service and security standard methodologies in mind.
Keeping abreast of and maintaining an intimate knowledge of “Industry Best Practices “covering operating procedures, hardware/software security devices (proactive/reactive protection), investigative procedures/processes and Provincial and Federal legislative requirements.
The incumbent will also perform coordination planning to support activities such as site visits, vendor reviews and site security audits or Threat Risk Assessments for their assigned region and/or office locations.

What you'll do:
- Perform and support site visits, vendor reviews and site security audits or Threat Risk Assessments.- Responsible for assessing outcome and proposing corrective actions with management approval.- Responsible for implementing change to region and handling financial impact.- Implement corporate physical security requirements across Canada in compliance with the Aviva Physical Security Policy.- Partner with the three Corporate Security Managers and other Coordinators, Physical Security to develop national physical security and occurrence management standards, processes and procedures based on Aviva Group policy.- Responsible for training and implementation of such standards, processes, and procedures- Handle routine security issues/occurrences and determine whether the severity of these issues requires senior management attention or escalation and provide recommended solutions.- Review Facility plans for regional site physical security setups and upgrades to ensure local compliance to physical security policy and standards.- Provide awareness training and ongoing mentorship to all employees within Canada as required.- Be proficient and comfortable in providing training and presenting in large groups.- Grow the technology within the Corporate Security Control Room.- Take the lead and manage the Corporate Security Control Room security supervisor and team by providing guidance, feedback, and having weekly meetings to continue a positive relationship with the guard services team.- Manage the monthly billing, metrics, SLA’s, Terminations, New Guard interview decisions with the control room.- Be a backup for any Everbridge messages, while leading the Rita Audits, Guard sanctioning, and ensuring Riskmatics alerts are provided to the team.- Active role with Emergency message line updates, occupancy reports, and guard training.- Be involved with Events, Fire Warden training, Emergency Preparedness week.- Be on call rotation with the team on a week-to-week basis.- Fully Manage the vendor relationship from Aviva to 3rd Party Guarding service.
What you'll bring:
- Specialized training and/or experience in.- Physical security management and the delivery of security standard processes- Risk analysis, risk management, security threat management- Safe mail handling, reception safety and security- Emergency response team training and management- Evacuation planning and exercises- Occurrence command and management- Escalated threat planning- Extensive knowledge of Aviva’s physical security; protocols, procedures, processes, guidelines, and plans.- Experience in planning for and implementing enterprise wide (large scale) incident / crisis management operations.- Hold a current Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Certification or be in the process of attaining it.-
- Must have 7+years’ experience in the field with management/supervisor experience.- Must be First Aid and CPR certified.- Must have vast knowledge with MS Office, Outlook, Planner, Tasks, Excel, etc.- Software House knowledge a bonus.
