Production Manager

**THE ROLE**:
- Management of formed plastics production through first line supervision.
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of all production teammates.
- Ensure quality requirements are met in the achievement of production schedules.
- Plan, monitor and ensure achievement in all aspects of departmental performance with respect to budget, finance plan, plant operating goals.
- Introduce, implement and foster team-based and lean manufacturing concepts to production teammates.
- Responsible for assigned Health, Safety and Environmental practice programs.
- Responsible for the Woodbridge Production System in production and set-up.
- Ensure training and operational initiatives and priorities are effectively communicated to teammates.
- Active participant in plant JHSC.
- Achieve production, material, labour and overhead costs within budgeted amounts.
- Support Production Supervisors in resolution of issues related to safety, quality, production priorities, material and man-hour allocations to meet designated targets and KPI’s.
- Liaise closely with the Quality department and conduct regular inspection of the work in progress for finished goods to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Establish/utilize lean manufacturing programs and principles, promoting Kaizens, Kamishibai’s, Natural Work Teams, Continuous Improvement ideas and implementation.
- Be conversant with the current wording and interpretation of the collective agreement to enable clear and consistent operations with unionized teammates and to advise supervisors.

- Success with implementing and sustaining Lean manufacturing programs
