**Overview**
Ping DSP Inc is an internationally respected leader in the development and production of 3D imaging and hydrographic survey sonars and is seeking a talented **Technical Support Lead** to join our growing team.

In the office the position will involve:

- processing survey data for case studies and performance testing
- maintaining and updating Product Manuals and Quick Start Guides

In the field the position will involve:

- conducting in person sonar system demonstrations in support of sales
- providing system training to customers
- sonar data collection surveys for case studies and performance testing

The position will be on site at our office at the Deep Cove Marina in North Saanich and will include occasional travel to US and international locations in support of sales and market development.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Technical Support**: Provide technical support to customers, including help with operational and survey questions, investigating and debugging operational anomalies remotely using Teamviewer, issuing RMA’s when required, training resellers to provide first level support
- **Training**: Provide training to customers and resellers as needed. Training is primarily limited to system operation but in some cases it is also helpful to provide some help with basic hydrography (e.g. patch test etc). In some cases training may be via a remote internet connection to support a customer or reseller and in some cases training will be on-site and require international travel.
- **Data Processing**: Collect and process survey data (bathymetry, 3D sidescan and/or 2D sidescan) for use in generating case studies or system testing. Applications may include high accuracy coastal and inland hydrography, habitat mapping, engineering surveys, search and locate, rapid environmental assessment, structure mapping, water-column surveys. Use of different 3rd party survey software products will be necessary (e.g. Hypack, Qinsy, SonarWiz, Caris etc).
- **Documentation & Reporting**: Provide written reports of activities as needed. Document support calls and issues within a ticketing system.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum **2 years experience** in hydrographic surveying.
- **Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident**:

- Knowledge of **hydrographic surveying**.
- Strong **technical knowledge and troubleshooting ability**related to sensors, networksand computers
- Excellent **communication skills and customer relationship building**:

- Excellent **organizational and time management skills**:

- Excellent **writing**ability in english
- **High integrity and genuine interest** in supporting customers and co-workers towards common goals
- Keen interest in promoting understanding and responsible **stewardship of all underwater environments**
