**Please note there are two Digital Producer openings available - one is permanent, and the other is a one-year temporary position.**

**Your role**
- CBC Podcasts is looking for two energetic and forward-thinking Producers, with a focus on digital content and project coordination. These positions require someone with knowledge and passion for podcasting, and a proven track record of working strategically in the digital realm. You will work closely with our production teams, creating and implementing unique digital and audience-building strategies for a number of our series. Reporting to the Senior Producer, these roles will manage a variety of relationships, and create a solid digital presence that flows from the senior leadership’s editorial priorities. You will be entrepreneurial, creative and ambitious while also ensuring consistency and accuracy in your work.

**Main responsibilities**:
- Following CBC Podcasts’ editorial priorities and aligning digital and social priorities accordingly-
- Boosting audience engagement through digital and social platforms based on each series’ “personality”-
- Prioritizing multiple demands and maintaining organization in an independent work environment-
- Establishing a cohesive creative aesthetic for each series, in coordination with an art director and editorial team-
- Creating launch strategies with input from series production teams, including providing creative ideas for story treatments, interactives, use of graphics-
- Managing online relationships with dedicated audiences-
- Crafting tonally appropriate digital content when approaching sensitive information in the true crime and narrative space-
- Creating and writing engaging social and digital content, with a diligent eye for syntax, spelling and grammar-
- Liaising with various CBC verticals, including News, Kids, Health, Arts & Life-
- Coordinating various digital outreach efforts, such as Reddit AMAs, special articles, Facebook Lives, etc.-
- Producing social and digital assets (graphics, audiograms, quote boards)-
- Coordinating series assets including graphics, video and audio-
- Suggesting and creating great headlines and visuals-
- Creating visual stories and packaging in Polopoly-
- Collaborating with other digital producers and associate producers within our team and across CBC-
- Editing audio as needed-
- Uploading podcast episodes and required titles and descriptions in DAVE-
- Troubleshooting unknown digital audio issues; knowing the lines of communication to problem solve in a timely manner-
- Reaching out to internal and external verticals, groups and influencers to encourage wider distribution of our series-
- Working with publicity and marketing to support outreach and provide assets as needed-
- Ensuring journalistic, digital and copyright best practices are followed**Your profile**:
- University degree in journalism or equivalent-
- Five (5) years experience with a minimum of three (3) years of related digital journalism experience at a major media organization-
- Solid understanding of the larger podcast ecosystem and is an engaged podcast listener-
- Familiarity with CBC Podcasts’ mission-
- Proven ability to create engaging digital/social content using a variety of treatments.-
- Understanding of, and creativity around, audience-building strategy for a range of genres including narrative and true crime series-
- Excellence in using dominant social platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram-
- Superior communications skills (oral and written), and ability to communicate clearly and effectively about programming, content and strategic issues-
- Experience with various technical platforms including photo and audio editing, digital cameras, live chats, content management systems, etc-
