JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting the HR Department in various coordination activities. Reporting directly to the Head of the Human Resources department with a dotted line to the Talent Acquisition Supervisor, this role will support the HR team in coordinating meetings, utilizing the companies message board and ensuring clear communication is done to all business units on HR events. The role will also support the Talent Acquisition team in ensuring Job Descriptions are up to date, and in ensuring that all appropriate documentation for employees is up to date and stored in the HR folders.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Health and Safety
- Works in compliance with the Health & Safety Act and regulations including using any equipment, protective devices or clothing required.
- Reports any known workplace hazards or violations of the Act to the supervisor.

Technical/Function
HR Administration
- Maintain and update virtual employee files, ensuring the system is organized and up to date.
- Support the HR department on preparing ad hoc employee reports such as metrics.
- Coordinate HR department and annual employee (culture) events (organizing event dates, posters, and participating on the day of)
- Manage company prescription safety glasses program.
- Create employment verification letters for Toro Group employees.
- Administer employee changes, update employee information in HRIS and audit employee data.
- Work on special projects (Wellness Wednesday) as needed.
- Handle confidential HR matters.
- Other HR duties as assigned.
- Preparing and maintaining key fobs for new and current employees

Talent Acquisition
- Work on various special projects and hiring initiatives, including sourcing of hiring grants.
- Collect new hire orientation documents.
- Conduct criminal and reference checks.
- Administer new hire information in Ceridian Dayforce.
- Send new hire announcements to appropriate business groups
- Organizing Job Fair and recruitment related events
- Schedule and conduct orientations for temporary agency workers transitioning to permanent.
- Identify and qualify internal referral bonus eligibility

Internal/External Customer Service
- Work closely with key team members, management and other departments in supporting and delivering an effective service.
- Communicate effectively with others.

Administration

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma preferred.

EXPERIENCE
- 2-4 years of experience in human resources and/or payroll coordination/administration role
- Experience in manufacturing is a strong asset.

SKILLS
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to be organized with a superb eye for detail and high standard of accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce is a strong asset
