**Job Summary**: The Snow Crew Team Lead will oversee and manage a team responsible for snow removal and ice control operations on a variety of properties, including parking lots, roadways, walkways, and other outdoor areas. This role requires leadership, hands-on snow removal expertise, and the ability to coordinate a team to ensure safety, efficiency, and timely response to weather events. The Snow Crew Team Lead will ensure all work is completed to meet company standards, local regulations, and client expectations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Team Leadership**: Supervise and guide snow removal crew members, ensuring safe and efficient operations during winter weather events.
- **Snow & Ice Management**: Direct and assist with the deployment of snow removal equipment, including plows, snow blowers, and salt spreaders, ensuring quick and thorough coverage of assigned areas.
- **Route Planning**: Plan and monitor snow removal routes, ensuring all designated areas are cleared and treated within required timeframes.
- **Safety Oversight**: Ensure all team members follow safety protocols and use equipment properly. Conduct safety meetings and briefings to ensure high standards are maintained.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Monitor the condition of snow removal equipment and ensure timely maintenance and repairs to keep equipment functioning properly.
- **Quality Control**: Inspect completed work to ensure thorough snow and ice removal, addressing any issues or rework as necessary.
- **Communication**: Serve as the primary point of contact between the snow crew and the Snow Operations Manager. Provide updates on team progress, weather conditions, and any issues that may arise.
- **Problem Resolution**: Address any challenges or issues that arise during snow removal operations, including delays, equipment breakdowns, or changes in weather conditions.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of work completed, including snow events, crew hours, and equipment used. Ensure compliance with company policies and client specifications.
- **Training & Development**: Train new team members on proper snow removal techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures. Provide ongoing support and mentorship to ensure a skilled and effective team.
**Qualifications**:
- **Experience**: Previous experience in snow removal, construction, or facilities management, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of snow removal techniques, ice control methods, and winter weather operations.
- **Leadership Skills**: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team in challenging conditions.
- **Skills**: Ability to operate snow removal equipment (e.g., plows, salt spreaders, snow blowers). Ability to perform minor equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
- **Physical Demands**: Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, lift heavy objects, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- **Certification**: Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred for operating larger snow removal vehicles). Certifications in snow removal and safety training are a plus.
- **Availability**: Flexible schedule, with availability for early morning, late night, or weekend shifts depending on weather conditions.
**Work Environment**:
- Outdoor work in cold and snow-heavy environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment during snowstorms or severe weather events.
- Must be able to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the winter season.
- Must be able to reliably commute to either our store location or snow sites during hours that city transportation does not run.
- Previous experience in snow removal or a similar field is preferred but not mandatory

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

**Education**:
- Secondary School (preferred)

- Landscape maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
