Forklift Operator/shipper/receiver

Latem industries is a manufacturing facility located on Struck Court in Cambridge Ontario. We are searching for an additional Shipper Receiver to join our growing team. This position also covers as a backup for the Production Schedulers.

The shift runs 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday. This is technically our afternoon shift, but we moved it up thru covid as a second shift is not required. please note that if things change it may return to the later afternoon shift.

**MUST HAVE**:Forklift and Shipping & Receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.**

**The duties include**:

- Forklift-safe operation, daily and monthly checks
- Operation of dock restraints and dock plates
- Ensure trucks are safe to drive on, with brakes applied and wheel chocks in place
- Ensure roll up doors of trucks are secure before driving on
- Work in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures
- Customer specific instructions
- Non-conforming material
- Receiving of raw materials - weight on incoming, incoming receiving stamp
- Incoming and final inspection
- Keep shipping/receiving areas organized
- Loading and unloading of all trucks
- Stacking, filing and storing of all received raw materials
- Maintain bin/order accuracy and tracebility by following numbering system
- Know weight distribution when loading trucks
- Assist with material handling at work areas when no trucks are here
- Review shipping documents to ensure all material is shipped correctly
- Label all incoming material with order identification labels
- Manage inventory room and its contents
- Monthly inventory

**Backup Scheduler duties include**:

- Schedules and co-ordinates flow of work within or between departments of manufacturing plant to expedite production.
- Reviews production schedule and work orders, establishes priorities for specific customer orders and revises schedule according to customer requirements, availability of workers, including temporary workers, parts, materials, machines and equipment.
- Co-ordinate and maintain movement of trailers in and out of docks and yard.
- Customer requirements:

- advanced shipping notices (ASN) either manually or via customer website
- bar code labels
- freight bill of lading
- bin ID labels
- Maintains inventory of materials and parts, (including data entry for database)
- Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding discrepancies.
- May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
- Maintain parts and customer database.
- Maintain digital file systems.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading and packing slips to route materials.
- Prepare invoices to customers and ensure the accuracy of the invoices through shipping records.
- Verify accuracy of customer purchase orders.

Compensation is $20.47/hr.
