Are you a Human Resources student or a person who is a self-starter, with a passion for working with a growing non-profit organization that supports Indigenous peoples experiencing homelessness? The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society (ACEHS) is seeking an **HR Assistant** to support the HR team with various HR administration tasks.

**JOB DETAILS**:
**Start Date**:As Soon as Possible

**Position Type**: Full-time

**Salary**: $22 - $24 per hour

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with the HR Manager to update employee files with all required information and ensure that the data is accurately reflected in both electronic files and physical files on site and integrated into new HRIS system.
- Reviews resumes in online database to screen qualified individuals for specific open positions.
- Support the HR Manager in completing tasks as required including but not limited to:

- Maintaining personnel files (both electronic and physical files)
- Ensure employee information is up to date with benefits provider
- Update required tracking forms and programs with current employee info (i.e. Quick Books, Payworks, HR tracking, benefits provider etc.
- Enters data into multiple Human Resources databases and tracking sheets.
- Assists in the construction and improvement of company policies and procedures.
- Files documents and answer employees' queries.
- Monitors staff absenteeism and participates in the attendance management process, preparing letters, calendars, meeting questions, etc.
- Opens new employee personnel files and maintains current employee files, both electronic and hard copy, keeping them accurate, current, and archiving as required, including file purging.

**Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources.
- One year experience in a similar position preferred.
- Experience using Payworks considered an asset.
- Ability to multitask and push multiple projects to completion simultaneously
- Understanding of the intergenerational trauma that occurs because of colonization, Residential Schools, Sixties Scoop, and other oppressive systems as well as the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada.
- Ability to work in a holistic, professional, and non-judgmental manner as you are working with a broad range of personalities, needs, cultures, lived experiences and abilities.
