Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for an** Inventory Management Specialist (Buyer)**to join our team at our Corporate head office in Winnipeg.

**What you will do**:

- Oversee, prepare, and process all branch purchase orders
- Monitor demand trends and adjust stocking levels for seasonality, sales variations, and competitive changes
- Review critical inventory reports daily to prevent stockouts and expedite orders when necessary
- Collaborate with category management to source substitutions and address supply chain issues
- Communicate promptly with stakeholders regarding supplier ETA changes or delivery delays
- Investigate and resolve inventory shortages, discrepancies, and obsolete stock issues
- Maintain target inventory fill rates while minimizing overstock
- Lead branch meetings and participate in supply chain calls to share updates and improvement initiatives
- Other duties as needed

**What We Require**:

- 2+ years of working experience in inventory control procedures, supply chain management, warehousing, or purchasing
- Post-secondary education in supply chain management
- Excellent customer service skills - dedicated to exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers
- Strong written and verbal skills - ability to write and speak succinctly with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Previous experience in a distribution environment preferred and/or inventory-based software and systems
- Heavy-duty parts knowledge or background is an asset
