As a member of the senior management team accountable for all aspects of Human Resource activities and clinic operations. To provide leadership in the effective use of Human Resources at The Port Arthur Health Centre. Responsibilities include policy development, long range planning, training, health and safety, employee relations, administration of policies, compliance to applicable legislation, recruitment, and salary /benefit administration.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Enrollment of employees to the Group Health and Dental benefits for staff and physicians
- Enrollment of employees to the Group Life Insurance and Long Term Disability Plan
- Enrollment of employees to the Group Pension Plan
- Prepare Job Descriptions and conduct job evaluation
- Responsible for effective employee relations and conflict resolution
- Develop and maintain personnel files
- Ongoing performance management
- Recruitment and Selection processes
- Prepare and conduct HR planning presentations for staff and physicians as needed
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation
- Lead Health and Safety Committee. Organize meetings, minutes, coordination certification training, and plan and organize required training for staff.
- Maintaining employee years of service throughout the year to ensure for accurate compensation and benefits
- Maintaining vacation and sick time accruals throughout the year to reconcile accuracy with payroll
- Ongoing tracking of full time equivalents to ensure budget target and staffing planning
- Other duties as needed

**OPERATIONS**
- Responsible for the efficient scheduling of human resources to ensure that staffing needs of the clinic are met
- Responsible for ensuring adequate levels of consumable supplies are available and within budget
- Responsible for the efficient operation of the clinic’s telephone system
- Resolve patient complaints from time to time
- In collaboration with the building manager ensure that the facility is clean, safe, and accessible
- Responsible for the effective operations and maintenance of medical equipment used within the clinic
- Manage parking permit distribution and maintaining accurate record of security cards and deposits received
- Monitor daily PSS failed faxes, and incomplete dictations
- Collaborate frequently with CEO on strategic decisions and daily operations of the clinic

**Knowledge**

Knowledge of current employment legislations, and other regulatory bodies within the scope of human resources function

Ability to work with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Power Point

**Education and Experience**

Work requires university or college diploma in Human Resource Management or related field. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills to provide advice and consultations to employees and management. Experience in policy development, recruitment and retention, conflict resolution, performance management, and compensation. CHRP designation would be an asset.

Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer. Judgement is exercised in human resource planning; policy development, and employee relations

**Salary**: $65,000.00 per year
