**OVERVIEW**

Hecla owns the majority of the historic high-grade Keno Hill Silver District located in Canada’s Yukon Territory. We’re developing two underground deposits, the Bermingham mine and the Flame & Moth mine. This is a great opportunity to be part of the team that is operating one of the highest-grade silver operations in the world.

We are looking for an individual to join our growing team. The **Heavy Equipment Operator/Trainer** will report to the Site Services Supervisor.

This is a 14 day on / 14 day off rotation at our Keno Hill Mine in Elsa, Yukon. All air and ground travel arrangements from Point of Hire (POH) to site and return are included for this position.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ability to run all pieces of surface equipment, ie. rock truck, loader, packer, water truck, dump truck, lime truck, vac truck, excavator, dozer, lowboy haulage and grader
- Coach, train, and mentor all heavy equipment operators
- Communicate with shift supervision to achieve daily plans and activities
- Carry out activities while being mindful of environmental impacts
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, codes, and corporate/site standard operating procedures
- Maintain valid Class 1A Driver’s License
- Requirement to fill in for the Site Services Supervisor from time to time
- Other duties as may be assigned

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Valid Class 1A Driver’s License
- 5-7 years experience operating similar equipment
- Some computer skills for data entry and SOP development
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to work in a team environment
- Train the Trainer Certification mandatory for this position
