**Hours**: Monday - Friday (7:00 am - 5:00 pm)

**Start Date**: ASAP

**Description**:
Miller Waste Systems Inc. has been in operation since 1961. Miller is a leader in waste management and diversion, providing governments and industries with a wide range of services in the provinces of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Manitoba. Miller has over 50 years’ experience in the waste management sector, and currently operates out of more than 30 locations. We are looking for a highly Heavy Equipment Mechanic to be located out of our Richmond hill location in Ontario.

**Responsibilities**:
In the position of Heavy Equipment Technician your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Maintaining and repairing site equipment to ensure mínimal downtime.
- Repair and service any and all equipment on site from loaders, excavators, skid steers, screening plants, conveyors, grinders, generators, etc.
- Maintain all required records and files for equipment maintenance.
- General shop maintenance and clean up.
- Assist in improving the Preventative Maintenance program within the compost group.
- Will be required to conduct service repairs outdoors.

**Requirements**:

- 421A Heavy Equipment Technician.
- Currently enrolled 3rd year in the 421A Heavy Equipment Technician program
- You will have the ability to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Must have own set of tools.
- Basic computer knowledge as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills are an asset for this position.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced team oriented environment is key in this position.
- Must be flexible with your working schedule as you may be required to work weekends and holidays.
