Miller Waste Systems Inc. has been in operation since 1961. Miller is a leader in waste management and diversion, providing governments and industries with a wide range of services in the provinces of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Manitoba. Miller has over 50 years of experience in the waste management sector and currently operates out of more than 30 locations. We are looking for a Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic to be located out of our Bloomington Compost location in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Miller Waste Systems is looking for a Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic with 5+ years of experience in the heavy equipment industry and with 2+ years of lead hand/supervisory experience. A collaborative but strong nature is essential, and the applicant’s background in heavy truck maintenance and repair in the transportation industry will allow them to succeed and grow within Miller Waste.

**Responsibilities**:
In the position of Lead Heavy Equipment Technician your responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to:
- Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Maintaining and repairing site equipment to ensure mínimal downtime.
- Repair and service any and all equipment on-site from loaders, excavators, skid steers, screening plants, grinders, pumps, generators, etc.
- Work closely with the site operations management to coordinate downtime on equipment.
- Assist in improving the Preventative Maintenance program within the composting group.
- Required to manage the parts inventory, and coordinate subcontracted work and equipment rentals.
- Will be required to conduct service repairs outdoors
- Will be required to travel to other compost yards when need to assist in repairs.
- Supervise both Bloomington and Clarington Compost site equipment, and technicians.

**Requirements**:
- The successful applicant will be comfortable with prioritization, planning, coordination, and organization, with an ability to respond and adapt to changing high-pressure environments. This individual will be able to assess problem situations, recognize issues, and use judgment
- to create solutions that meet required standards.
- You will have the ability to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Basic computer knowledge, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills, are an asset for this
- position.
- The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced team-oriented environment is key in this position.
- Must be flexible with your working schedule as you may be required to work weekends and holidays.
- Must have a valid G driver's license with a clean record.
- Must own full set of mechanic tools
