**Job Overview**
Jensen Hughes is seeking a full-time Building/Fire Code Consultant, who is based in one of our offices within Canada. Remote working can be considered as dictated by personal circumstances. The Consultant will focus on building and fire code (fire and life safety) work with a multi-disciplinary team to consult with clients on delivering future demand in major rapid rail transit projects or upgrading existing transportation infrastructure.
**Responsibilities**:
- Design and lead fire and life safety approaches, primarily for rapid rail transit projects
- Provide egress analysis in accordance with the Ontario Building Code and NFPA 130
- Lead the preparation and writing of technical reports detailing fire and life safety approaches
- Present code/egress approaches and results to clients, the public and other technical and non-technical audiences
- Manage projects, client engagement, work planning, budget monitoring, and project reporting
- Collaborate with other Jensen Hughes staff in business development, as well as the promotion of advancing market growth opportunities
- Engage in training and working on a wide variety of fire protection engineering design and consulting projects
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering
- 5 - 10 years of previous experience including extensive experience in the fire and life safety portion of rapid rail transit projects and initiatives
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent presentation, communication and technical writing skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset and inclination toward developing transportation fire and life safety opportunities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Professional Engineer designation is an asset
