**Overview**

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Health & Safety Coordinator will ensure control over the entire safety program, investigating and reporting workplace injuries and incidents, including recommendations to prevent reoccurrence. Investigate workplace hazard reports and safety concerns. Develop safe work procedures, safety reports, and maintain appropriate records, as well as maintaining the safety culture in the company.

**Requirements**:

- **MUST **have experience working in heavy construction industry
- Hold a valid Class 5F License & Drivers Abstract
- A degree, diploma, or relevant experience in Occupational Health & Safety
- NCSO designation considered an asset
- Other certifications: Excavation and trenching, Flag Person, Traffic control
- Previous experience working in COR-certified companies.

**Qualifications**:

- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
- An assertive, confident personality
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to work on several projects, with multiple duties and tasks within deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software and Google Drive
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and be proactive

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain company compliance with MHCA and maintain COR designation
- Carrying out weekly Safety Talks and safety inspections on all company job sites and ensure all activities are compliant with safety guidelines
- Perform safety investigations and complete reports according to company policy
- Writing and revising all company safety documentation
- Conduct employee training as required
- Working closely with management regarding compliance, audits and the implementation of safety policy and procedures
- Provide general guidance and information for all employees on Occupational Health and Safety guidelines
- Participate in the coordination and facilitation of regular new employee onboarding

**Salary: To be determined based on experience**
