**Responsibilities**:

- **Safety Program Development**: Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the needs of construction companies.
- **Site Inspections**: Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- **Internal Audits**: Conduct internal audits, including COR, City of Winnipeg, and Safe Work Certified Audit.
- **Incident Investigation**: Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; develop and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- **Documentation and Records**: Maintain comprehensive documentation and records related to safety activities, including incident reports, inspections, and training records.
- **Toolbox Talks and Safety Meetings**: Support the coordination, organization, and delivery of project toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- **On-Site Oversight**: Provide oversight of on-site construction work conducted by contractors to assess contractor compliance against relevant legislation and contract requirements.
- **Safety Management Software**: Utilize safety management software to document incidents (including proactive events), meetings, inspections, orientations, observations, and corrective actions.
- **Audit Support**: Provide assistance as requested with internal or external audits and corrective action plans.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Strong communicator, both in writing and spoken communications, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation and experience in construction safety requirements are preferred.
- Highly organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to present to groups effectively.
- Experience in managing multitasks and multiple priorities within tight time frames.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook).
- NCSO or other safety designation is preferred.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work site-based and/or from home.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.

**Preferred**:

- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Experience with COR, City of Winnipeg, and Safe Work Certified audits.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
