**Safety Coordinator**

Oakpark Powerline is seeking a safety coordinator to add to their team. This position is a combination of office administration and in-field support, using SiteDocs to manage field paperwork. This position will work closely with Project Managers and Foreman / Leadhands to ensure adherence to our safety standards.

- **Job Duties**:_
- Lead the maintenance of Oakpark Powerline's Occupational Health and Safety Program by auditing, inspecting, monitoring, tracking, communicating and recording OHS data - using both company systems and 3rd party contractor management databases such as ISN, Avetta, Complyworks
- Interpret legislation, processes, procedures and client requirements for all operations communicating requirements to key stakeholders in the project
- Organize, schedule, record and track training for staff and sub-contractor qualifications
- Conduct formal and informal site inspections, providing coaching and creating corrective action plans where necessary
- Administer weekly safety meetings and site-specific orientations
- Chair the Health and Safety committee - developing the agenda, posting minutes and following up on actions
- Ensure compliance with COR requirements are continuously met by performing quarterly (ongoing) audits and designing action plans where required
- Act as first point of contact for all company incidents, leading investigations and handling submissions to WCB and WH&S as required
- Input and track utility locates for projects involving ground disturbance
- Act as OHS contact for all clients, communicating with attending walk-throughs and meetings as required

- **Requirements**:_
- 1+ years experience
- Ability to present in front of large groups of people in informal settings
- Excellent problem solving, communication and organizational skills
- Class 5 drivers license
- Ability to be in the field up to 50% of the time performing audits / providing coaching

**Desired**:

- Flexibility to travel 5-10% of the time, supporting out of province operations and rural Manitoba
- Oakpark Powerline is located on Highway 75, 5 miles south of St. Norbert._
