**Meet the team**:The Communications team sets the strategy for communications to advance the evolving priorities of the Pembina Institute’s policy areas and objectives. They develop processes, best practices and resources for communications to ensure the organization’s overall values and brand is represented. The team supports the communications work of every part of the organization by maintaining quality control of written and visual materials and executing external outreach strategies through digital platforms and tools.
**The opportunity**: We’re looking for a **Digital Communications Lead** based out of one of our five regional offices (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa) to join our Communications team on a **12-month, maternity leave coverage.** We’ll lean on you to execute Pembina Institute's social media strategy and digital outreach initiatives. You will work with stakeholders across the organization to maintain best practices and standard processes related to the organization’s digital communications.
**Your key responsibilities**:

- Execute a holistic digital media strategy to advance Pembina Institute’s brand and strategic goals.
- Create, edit, and publish organic daily content for current social media channels to raise brand profile and demonstrate the Pembina Institute’s expertise in key policy areas**.**:

- Track and schedule social media to ensure efficient and effective coordination of content across the organization.
- Use analytics to monitor and track social media platforms to optimize engagement with digital properties, assess calls to action and maintain brand reputation, using a variety of online tools.
- Maintain and ensure brand and tone consistency across all Pembina Institute channels.
- Oversee the production and distribution of social media assets.
- Keep abreast of current trends in digital media, with a focus on social media best practices, and prepare strategies to respond to the changing media landscape.
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with internal Pembina stakeholder groups.

**What we’re looking for**: As a key member of the Pembina Institute’s communications team, you demonstrate both personal and professional commitments to advancing the organization’s vision, mission, values and strategic plan.
You are self-motivated and results-oriented, demonstrating strong project management skills with the ability to organize and monitor competing deadlines. You have excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, and an ability to work proficiently with various digital software tools. In addition, you demonstrate a commitment to sustainability and social change through your educational and professional endeavors.
**You also have**:

- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in social media or communications in a professional environment, such as industry, government or the not-for-profit sector.
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field. A combination of work experience and education may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and evaluating social media and/or digital outreach strategies.
- Proven skills and experience in popular communications, copy-editing, online publishing, and multimedia.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with basic HTML editing, blogging and online publishing.
- Proven experience in media monitoring, web, and digital analytics.
- Familiarity with modern analytics tools and social media scheduling software.
- Experience developing, editing, and producing multimedia products (audio/video podcasts, audio slideshows, YouTube videos, etc.). is considered a bonus.
- French language proficiency (speaking and writing) is a bonus.
