We are Ottawa’s destination for Montreal-style bagels, hot out of the wood burning oven every day. Our kitchen specializes in made-to-order hot and cold _Bagelsammies_, tapping into our broad assortment of European deli meats, our own house-roasted meats and made from scratch sides and condiments.
We are looking for someone to join our kitchen team, working primarily weekdays, early mornings through mid-afternoon. In this role you will be responsible for line ingredient prep and re-stocking, as well as short order food preparation working on our sandwich line.
**Responsibilities**
- above all, you will ensure that our sandwiches and sides are presented accurately, beautifully and quickly for every customer
- you will work as part of a team on our sandwich line, assembling hot and cold sandwiches, sides and salads
- you will prepare hot sandwich items on our flat top grill, and make fried sides using the deep fryer
- you will work fast and efficiently, but always with the utmost care and attention to cleanliness and safety in the kitchen
- you will be re-stocking line items and maintaining a clean work station throughout the shift
- you will prepare a variety of ingredients to re-stock line items, including condiments, sliced vegetables, sauces and other line items
- you will slice, trim and portion meat and fish sandwich ingredients, ensuring that quality and cost efficiency are maintained
- you will follow established food preparation and safety guidelines at all times
- you will support closes and overall kitchen cleanliness and sanitary operation by cleaning and replenishing the line, cleaning kitchen equipment, general restocking of food and packaging items, dish washing, sweeping, mopping

**Experience and Other Details**
- 1-2 years previous experience on a quick service sandwich line or in a fast food kitchen environment is preferred
- we are willing to train if you have less experience but have the right attitude and motivation
- must be available to work any day of the week, 6 to 8 hour shifts between the hours of 6PM and 5PM
- pay rate offered will be matched to prior experience—previous experience with meat slicing, knife skills, prep cook and/or commercial baking experience, all are assets but not required
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 30-40 per week
**Salary**: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
