*Job Summary*

The HR Generalist is responsible for the coordination of HR programs and initiatives. This will involve developing, implementing and maintaining HR programs, strategies and policies, including employee relations, union and company relations, benefits administration, HRIS, compensation and performance management, health & safety, employee training & development, and recruitment. The position will also be responsible for supporting the Accounting Department in the payroll and pension administration, maintaining of time sheets and all payroll related information. In addition, the HR Generalist pays a key role in the collective agreement administration for union emeployees and building strong relationships with union representatives. This position provides strong support to the management team and provides input on HR initiatives.

*Responsibilities*
- Assist in recruitment efforts by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews
- Handle employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Support employee relations by addressing questions and concerns
- Maintain HRIS systems and ensure data accuracy
- Manages and maintains employee group benefit plan and pension plan, including verification of billing, Processes employee benefits including enrollment, changes and terminations. Maintains liaison with benefit carriers and brokers.
- Conduct data collection and entry for HR metrics and reporting
- Collaborate on HR projects such as policy updates or training initiatives
- Recommends and develops company policies & procedures. Answers questions related to policies and practices and employment-related legislation. Maintains company Employee Handbook.
- Supports maintenance of company Health & Safety program. Coordinates all medical surveillance testing.
- Administers compensation program and assists with the effective implementation of performance review system.
- Assists in bi-weekly payroll for employees. Reviews and updates timecards. Ensures time-off requests are accurately recorded in ADP. Verifies source deductions, premiums and garnishments.

*Requirements*
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, combined with professional HR certification such as CHRP/CHRL is desired
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role - minimum 3 years
- Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Experience with collective agreement management preferably in an unionized manufacturing environment
- HR experience with policy development &implementation, and benefits administration experience

Pay: $76,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
