CMI sources and processes recycled ferrous and non-ferrous metals across North America to ensure they do not end up in a landfill or go to waste. Our recycling stream ensures that all the ferrous and non-ferrous metals that enter our yards will create something new again
Here’s where you come in
As part of the Non-Ferrous Sales team, you will be responsible for all back-end functions related to our overseas shipments, from contract creation to container arrival as well as providing a positive experience to external and internal customers.
What you will be responsible for
- New customer account setup
- Generate invoices and calculate amounts and advances
- Contract management
- Create, maintain, and close off E-files
- Ensure all Non-Ferrous sales are priced
- Preparing shipping documents such as invoices, packing list, scale ticket, photos, and country specific documentation in line with customer specifications.
- Ensuring all documents are sent within the designated time frame and tracking shipments arrival to ensure no delays
- Ensure timelines for pricing and payment by customer are met to avoid holding up shipments
- Update internal system by set timelines to keep status of each shipment current
- Work closely with internal and external parties to provide shipment status
- Communicate with accounting team to monitor timing of receivables and payables
- Prepare/request final OBL/Sea Waybill release once all criteria is met and validate accuracy
- Investigate and process claims where necessary and approved
- Complete month end processes in the internal system
What you bring to the table
- High school graduate
- Post-secondary education preferred
- 3+ years of administrative experience
- Proficient in invoice generation and calculations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
- Intermediate MS Word skills (Excel and Outlook)
- Basic arithmetic computation skills
- Customer service-oriented with tact and judgment
- Adaptable to tight deadlines and last-minute demands
- Highly organized with task prioritization abilities
- Multitasking capability and a willingness to learn
- Proactive with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience with incoterms, overseas shipping, packing, invoicing, and BOL drafts is a plus.
