ABOUT THIS POSITION

Digital Extremes “DE'' is seeking a Social Media Manager to join its External Projects team to support the release of a new, externally developed game from the creative minds at Airship Syndicate. This role requires a daring and progressive Social Media Manager to activate new content platforms and social channels to promote the upcoming launch. By partnering with the Editorial, Product Marketing and Community Management teams, the Social Media Manager will establish and then scale social exposure and engagement on the road to release. Leveraging various digital content platforms and creative partners, this role will bring the world to life outside of the game to entertain and interact with millions of players.

Playing a critical role among a larger multi-discipline publishing department, this position within the External Projects team, owns the social media marketing execution including the research, strategic planning, creative development, project management, tactical channel execution and performance reporting. Leading and contributing to various social promotions and marcomm initiatives, this role could also require the management of external agencies including the creation of content, analysis of campaign performance and its contribution to reaching desired goals. This role works closely with our studio partners including Airship Syndicate and their Community Management team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Editorial Manager and Product Marketing Manager to develop, manage, and execute social media strategies that create engaging content for players to support the launch and live-game operations of an upcoming online game
- Develop the pre-launch social media plan and then execute with alignment under the broader marketing campaign to establish new social media and digital content channels including partner community groups and other promotional feeds
- Collaborate with Airship Syndicate to properly reflect the vision of their game and deliver AAA player experiences across all social media touchpoints with rigorous asset management and creative content planning
- Develop and manage the creation, scheduling and publishing of various types of content across TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other digital communication, community and social content channels
- Contribute to the cross-team production of social community management initiatives by tracking team tasks, resources, deliverables and deadlines including the contribution to shared communications and content calendar
- Create new processes and operations including new playbooks specific to the needs of this online game, and the continued live-service support including values and guidelines for social media
- Improve engagement by tracking performance of content marketing efforts through social media analytics, share performance reports and learnings with the larger marcomm team
- Transform and organize various marketing assets and copy into captivating, cohesive, and concise marketing copy that captures the spirit and narrative of its source material
- Identify creative strategies to extend the world building outside of the game with entertaining experiences that further the development of the story and characters that fans care about
- Provide insightful reports showcasing emerging community themes, ranging from player sentiment to product feedback and other forms of player requests and interest areas
- Help contribute to the timely identification of emerging community issues and support in player communication relations providing real-time updates and resolution
- Accurately forecast and manage a budget including the tracking and processing of paid efforts with external vendors

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or Related Field
- 2-4 Years of Experience in Social Media, Content Marketing, Community Management or Digital Marketing
- Extremely detail-oriented, quality-focused and driven to consistently meet tight deadlines
- Ability to individually contribute and to embrace accountability and challenge in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Individual responsibility for championing outcomes for projects with shared ownership across groups
- General understanding of promotional and marketing communications strategies
- Ability to leverage analytics, insights and reporting to make more informed decisions
- Strong organizational and project management skills with great communication and collaboration
- Clever, creative personality with a passion for gamer culture
