**What you will be doing**

Reporting to the Director of Projects, the Logistics Project Coordinator works closely with international team members and clients, providing exceptional customer service and delivering solutions to our project logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex international shipments for large-scale projects, ensuring smooth customs clearance, and coordinating with global partners to deliver cargo efficiently and cost-effectively.

**You will be contributing to that vision by**
- Orchestrate multi-modal transportation bookings and shipments for a diverse range of cargo, including hazardous materials, standard freight, and oversized loads, managing export, import, and domestic logistics seamlessly.
- Proactively monitor and ensure timely, complete delivery of freight through consistent follow-up and tracking processes.
- Efficiently manage and input critical data into the company's proprietary software system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Cultivate and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with customers, vendors, and internal team members to foster a seamless and productive work environment.
- Strategically identify, evaluate, and integrate service-oriented vendors whose values align with our company culture to enhance and expand our service portfolio.
- Identify transactions and tasks needing special handling, propose process improvements to management, and implement solutions within your assigned responsibilities.
- Procure, negotiate, and finalize freight rates with ocean carriers, air carriers, truckers, and warehousing companies.
- Operate within the complete spectrum of freight forwarding services, from manufacturing to consumption, including order management, inventory management, movement scheduling, customs brokerage, monitoring and control services, and cost optimization.
- Proactively seek solutions to challenges faced by the team.
- Pay close attention to paperwork from various parties to ensure it aligns with the organized shipment.

**What skills & experience you will bring to us**
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field.
- 2+ years of operational freight forwarding experience within Canada.
- In-depth knowledge of export and import operations, including documentation, preparation of bills of lading and delivery orders, and customs clearance is required.
- Prior experience in specialized, out-of-gauge, or project cargo transport is highly desirable.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to use them in a diverse multicultural environment.
- Be a self-starter capable of performing duties effectively with mínimal supervision.
- Be a team player, offering and receiving assistance to ensure the team delivers superior customer service.
- Possess strong math skills, including the ability to calculate freight measurements and perform Metric/English unit conversions.
- Comprehend the principles of international trade and INCOTerms.
- Ability to multitask and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with firm deliverable dates.
- Adapt to working across various time zones as needed.
- Proficient in computer skills, with extensive experience using MS Outlook, Excel, Word, OneDrive, and MS Teams.
- Previous experience with logistics software and tracking systems an asset.
- Ability to work additional hours as required based on operational need.
