Role Summary:
Specific Responsibilities:

- Work alongside Operations leadership team, supervising, supporting and providing feedback on the spot
- Oversee work assignments, ensuring safety and efficiency
- Work in accordance with Employment Standards, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Food Safety, as well as the Collective Agreement
- Timely communication of any anticipated issues with inbound and outbound product
- Support adherence to all company policies and procedures
- Demonstrate leadership through teamwork and maintaining a positive attitude
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all internal and external contacts
- Provide vacation relief to other members of the Operations leadership team
- Participate in the forging of an environment of continuous learning and development
- Support the onboarding and development of new hires within the Operations team
- Coordinate and provide training and re-certification to employees in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, company and department policies and processes.
- Create milestones to be achieved through training methods and create training plans.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Position Requirements and skills:

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous experience in a training function is preferred, but not required for this role.
- Previous experience in warehouse operations is required, warehouse distribution experience is preferred
- Good communication skills, both spoken and written
- Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Must be detail oriented and be able to make effective business decisions
- Knowledge of essential safety processes and procedures for all positions in a distribution environment.
- Ability to work in a self-directed work environment, and plan and direct work activities of new hires
