The Plant Manager directs and manages all plant operations through a team of functional supervisors with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, shipping & receiving, quality, and other production-related activities. Ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, and machines.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance.
- Establish and implements appropriate standards and benchmarks throughout departments to measure performance and efficiencies.
- Monitor and ensure that production costs are controlled to achieve budgetary goals.
- Participate in developing capital and operating budgets with regards to production activities.
- Manage capital assets and provide input into capital requests and justifications.
- Ensure plant meets or exceeds the highest safety standards including all compliance with legislative requirements.
- Act as a key problem solver, addressing operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues swiftly to minimize disruptions and maximize profitability.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, leading efforts to enhance existing processes and systems for greater efficiency, effectiveness, and performance.
- Develop comprehensive manufacturing processes and resource plans for personnel, materials, subcontracting, facilities, and equipment.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration, ensuring seamless alignment between manufacturing and other organizational functions to optimize resources.
- Provide direction, leadership, mentoring and training to supervisors and staff to accomplish company goals and objectives.
- Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Vigilantly monitor and enforce adherence to predefined cost benchmarks, quality standards, and delivery commitments to uphold our reputation for excellence.
- Complete other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

**REQUIRED COMPETENCIES**
- Background in manufacturing methods and process improvement programs.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory policy related to ISO-9001, ISO-14001, and OHSAS 18001 environments.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral.
- Exceptional computer skills.
- Proven leader and coach with the ability to inspire and engage teams.
- Proficiency in organization, time management and multitasking.
- A high degree of self-initiative and personal motivation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of swift situation assessment and data analysis.

**EXPERIENCE**
- 10+ years plant operations or engineering experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of general/plant management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing unionized workplace is an asset.

**EDUCATION**
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business, engineering, or related field.
- Green Belt lean Six Sigma, Black Belt is an asset.
