**Position overview**

As a **Payroll Lead** at YVR, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the payroll department and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of our payroll for all YVR employees. You will lead a team of two payroll and benefits administrators and work closely with HR team members, finance, and other departments to ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations and requirements.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of two Payroll & Benefits Administrators, including training and development, performance management, and workflow management
- Manage the full payroll process for YVR, overseeing the preparation, processing and payment, including all necessary payroll adjustments
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial and local tax laws and regulations related to payroll, including tax filing and reporting requirements
- Ensure accurate and timely enrollment and processing of employee benefits, pension contributions and other deductions
- Work with HR and other departments to maintain accurate employee records, including updating employee information and processing new hires, terminations and employee changes
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits, including resolving any discrepancies or issues in a timely and professional manner
- Be the main point of contact and manage all payroll audits and compliance requests
- Manage internal (employees, managers, HR Business partners) and external (payroll service providers and benefits providers) relationships to ensure effective and efficient service delivery
- Participate in the development and implementation of payroll policies, procedures, and systems to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the payroll process
- Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and employee information

**Key qualifications include**:

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a payroll management role, including experience in leading a payroll team, supplemented by a diploma or degree in accounting, finance or business administration with a specialization in payroll or human resources management; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Completion of the Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification program offered by the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA)
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, employment standards and taxation requirements
- Experience with payroll and HR systems such as SAP, Kronos and Ceridian Dayforce
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
