Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled HR Manager to join our team at Minor Bros. As an HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in our organization's growth and success by supporting our employees and contributing to various aspects of our HR function. Your role will be pivotal in creating a positive work environment, ensuring the seamless management of HR operations, and facilitating a culture of inclusivity and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
**Employee Lifecycle Management**: Collaborate closely with various departments and team members to execute HR operational processes, focusing on the entire employee lifecycle while maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
**HR Support**: Act as the primary point of contact for employees, leaders, and teams, addressing inquiries, managing requests, and resolving issues related to HR policies, programs, and legislation.
**Technology and Automation**: Become a proficient user of HR technology, identifying opportunities for process automation and data integrity enhancement, ensuring that our HR tools are maximized for efficiency.
**Policy Development**: Participate in the development and review of company policies, continuously improving HR operations and program delivery.
**Compensation and Benefits**: Assist in managing compensation, benefits, base pay, bonus programs, and the continuous performance management cycle.
**Culture Building**: Contribute to team events and initiatives, promoting a culture of celebration and belonging.
**Engagement Initiatives**: Support the creation and implementation of engagement and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
**Employee Relations**: Collaborate with managers to address tier 1 employee relations issues professionally and effectively.
**Payroll Collaboration**: Partner with our finance team to ensure payroll-related information, processes, and data flow smoothly.
**HR Metrics and Reporting**: Retrieve and analyze HR metrics, maintaining the HR dashboard to support data-driven decision-making.
**Health and Safety**: Play a critical role in the MB Country Living and Minor Bros. Animal Health & Nutrition Safety Program and Joint Health & Safety Committee, providing support for our manufacturing plant, headquarters and retail stores.
**Onboarding and Offboarding**: Enhance and manage the onboarding experience for new employees across all departments and provide support in offboarding.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar People Operations Role within a high-growth environment.
- Proficiency in Canadian labour laws, including policies, procedures, compliance, and practices related to Workplace Health and Safety and the Employment Standards Act.
- Experience working in HR for a retail or manufacturing company is an asset.
- Ability to accurately analyze and synthesize data into well-planned and comprehensive recommendations for the business.
- Highly accountable and able to support project plans to move them forward.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and has a good understanding of training, and payroll systems.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting data and metrics to support the HR team in making effective business recommendations and decisions.
- Experience building policies and procedures.
- Capability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion.
