**Casual Medical Device Reprocessing Technician**
**Effective immediately**

**_Summary:_** The MDRD Technician will be responsible for decontaminating, reprocessing and sterilization
of equipment, supplies and instrumentation, as well as maintaining the sterilization systems using
preventative maintenance and quality practices. The MDRD Technician will ensure the sterilization
system’s maintenance is performed as per hospital policies and procedures. The MDRD Technician will
also function as an OR assistant, working collaboratively with OR staff, as well as deliver sterile supplies
throughout the hospital as needed. Some additional supply delivery, stocking and organizing in
conjunction with the JIT system may be assigned. The MDRD Technician will maintain proper infection
prevention practices and act as a resource of current information on accurate infection prevention
practices as it relates to the OR/MDRD.

**_Hours of Work: _**The schedule consists of day shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed

**_Qualifications:_**

Secondary School Diploma or equivalent

Medical Device Reprocessing Certificate through an accredited program required.

CSAO Certificate an asset.

Minimum one year experience with Steam Autoclaves, Steris System 1, OER Pro endoscope
reprocessor and other pertinent processing equipment an asset.

Experience in computers an asset.

Ability to function as a team player together with co-workers and management.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull stocked carts.

Demonstrates a commitment to communication, continuing education and willingness to actively

families and others) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital
related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing mandatory
