**The opportunity**:
The University of Manitoba is seeking a Credit Card Coordinator within its Travel Services department. This position is responsible for overseeing the administration of the University’s credit card programs, including over 2,200 travel and procurement cards issued to faculty and staff. Reporting to the University Travel Program Administrator, the role supports compliance, risk mitigation, and cardholder support through daily operations, system coordination, and reporting.
Travel Services manages the University’s travel program and expense management tool, processes over 30,000 business expense claims annually, and provides training to ensure policy compliance. The Credit Card Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting these functions, working closely with internal stakeholders and the University’s credit card provider.
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:
- Completion of a formal training program in business administration is required, with a specialty in accounting preferred.
- Four years of directly-related administration experience is required, where proficiency in accounting practices and theory have been developed.
- Experience in credit card program administration, accounts payable or procurement is required.
- Experience interpreting policies and procedures for providing related advice to others is required.
- Experience working directly with vendors is required.
- Experience with developing training programs, including instructional and other resources to support credit card administration and reconciliation is preferred.
- Experience with leading organizational-wide projects is preferred.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must have understanding of accounting principles and working within large, complex, multi-faceting accounting systems.
- Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer and desktop software Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Windows XP).
- Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and be able to demonstrate applied knowledge.
- Must have the ability to process, analyze and report on large amounts of data with speed, accuracy and attention to detail in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate and address complex situations with a great deal of independence.
- Must be able to reconcile accounts and identify root causes of issues in order to correct them.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service required.
- Ability to demonstrate tactfulness and diplomacy in a professional manner required.
- Ability to work independently, organize and administer activities required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
