Centretown Community Health Centre (CCHC) serves more than 14,000 individuals each year. We pay particular attention to vulnerable groups including the isolated senior population, the LGBTQ2S+ community, Indigenous Peoples, racialized communities, francophones, those affected by mental illness and addictions, individuals and families who live in poverty, including those who are homeless and newcomers to Canada.
The Communications Officer supports CCHC’s strategic goals by planning, developing, implementing and evaluating all communication activities at CCHC. From engaging in media relations to social media to supporting advocacy, the Communications Officer plays a key role in ensuring measurable communication goals are met.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum three years of experience in a position in the not-for-profit sector (or a demonstrated understanding of the sector through volunteering) with a focus on communications, public relations, professional writing, or equivalent work-related duties.
- A diploma or degree in business, communications, marketing, public relations or a related discipline from a recognized college or university.
- Ability to use graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator) to create print and electronic communications products. For example, annual reports, social media graphics, etc.
- Experience with social media platforms and knowledge on how to increase engagement.
- Proficient with workplace software programs including Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated flexibility and effectiveness within a rapidly changing environment, short deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and collaborate effectively in an inter-professional team environment.
- Exceptional attention to details.
- Understanding of local and provincial governments’ role in health and social services.
- Fund development experience in the non-profit sector is an asset.

**Compétences**
- Minimum de trois ans d’expérience dans le secteur à but non lucratif (ou compréhension avérée de ce secteur grâce à des expériences de bénévolat) à un poste en lien avec les communications, les relations publiques, la rédaction professionnelle ou un domaine équivalent.
- Diplôme ou grade collégial ou universitaire reconnu en administration des affaires, en communication, en marketing, en relations publiques ou dans un domaine connexe.
- Capacité à utiliser des logiciels de conception graphique (Canva, Adobe Illustrator, etc.) pour créer des produits de communication imprimés et électroniques. Par exemple, des rapports annuels, des graphiques pour les médias sociaux, etc.
- Expérience avec les plateformes de médias sociaux et connaissances sur l’accroissement de l'engagement.
