Assistant Coach

Based in Toronto or select remote locations, the **Assistant Coach & Support Analyst** will
provide crucial coaching and analytical support to both future and current Rugby Canada
players. A specific focus will be to work with identified players and teams participating in
Major League Rugby. Using objective data and information across all aspects of the
performance game, the individual will work in unison with senior staff to impact performance
decisions and high-performance development.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support the Director, Men’s Rugby on talent identification and talent development of

key players
- Provide daily coaching support for targeted players in a centralized environment
- Provide analytical support for all targeted players both in a centralized and
- decentralized environment- Capture, prepare and analyze data from competitions and training domestically,
- nationally and internationally- Maintain, manage, and develop a comprehensive performance database. This includes
- individual, unit, and team information as requested.- Using a range of objective data provide insight into past, current, and future trends in
- rugby performance- Design, implement and deliver targeted projects for both coaching and playing groups
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and outside agencies to meet the needs of
- performance and magnify the impact of performance analysis support- Promote Rugby Canada with all external agencies by developing effective relationships
- Challenge, Inspire, develop, and improve all identified players
- Support national team programs as requested by the Director, Men’s Rugby.

**REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**




- Recognized degree in physical education, human movement or exercise and sports

science
- A minimum of three years of experience in high-performance sport
- Experience working in performance rugby is preferable
- High level of knowledge of profiling and screening of athletic qualities
- Sports science experience especially the collection and management of GPS data
- Excellent numeracy, analysis and presentation skills
- Recognized First Aid and CPR certification (desirable)
- Excellent computer literacy skills
