**Design Coordinator**

**Reports to: Design Manager**

**Job Summary**:
The role of the Design Coordinator is integral to the efficiency and overall success of the Design Department. The Design Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and completion of all design projects from conception to delivery, utilizing various software programs (MiTek Sapphire, Planswift). The Design Coordinator will work closely with designers, sales representatives, and other department teams.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Oversee incoming quote request to ensure all information is accurate and complete; communicate with sales personnel and customers on technical aspects of plans which require clarification.
- Responsible for processing change forms received from sales reps, and/or customers. Identify the required changes to the plans.
- Create new projects in our scheduling program.
- Manage and update Lumber Price Lists, including maintaining Planswift materials and prices.
- Process accepted lumber prices, while also creating new Planswift entries for all new quotes.
- Type manual quotes using Excel.
- Update lumber quotes using Sage and/or Excel.
- Deliver the latest Planswift tracking codes and entering brand new drawings into Planswift.
- Monitor incoming change forms to ensure accuracy and completeness of information; communicate with sales personnel regarding technical aspects needing clarification and identifying necessary plan alterations.
- Acting as a liaison between the sales representatives and design team, ensuring that client feedback and concerns are addressed and incorporated into the design process.

- High motivated, results-oriented, driven, with a willingness to learn.
- Read an interpret structural/architectural drawings.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Service oriented, easily build relationships with customers, and internal and external parties demonstrating tact and diplomacy.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary diploma or technical courses in Architecture, building or construction technology.
- Education in architectural, civil or construction technology an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Ontario Building Code Part 4 and 9.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong knowledge of Engineering/Design Programs (MiTek Sapphire, Planswift).
- Advanced blueprint reading.

**Experience**:

- 1-3 years of design and customer service experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the design process in single and multi-structures.
