**Job Summary**:
Tarpin Lumber and Truss is proud to provide outstanding service and products to residential and commercial builders throughout Barrie and the Greater Toronto Area. The role of the Design Coordinator is integral to the efficiency and overall success of the Design Department. The Design Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and completion all design projects from conception to delivery utilizing various software programs (MiTek Sapphire, Planswift). The Design Coordinator will work closely with designers, sales representatives, and other department teams.

**Design Department Responsibilities**:

- Oversee incoming quote requests to ensure all information is accurate and complete; communicate with sales personnel and customers on technical aspects of plans which require clarification.
- Responsible for processing change forms received from sales rep. and/or customer. Identify the required changes to the plans.
- Create new project in our scheduling program.
- Update Planswift materials and prices (will require training)
- Acting as a liaison between the sales representatives and design team, and ensuring that client

feedback and concerns are addressed and incorporated into the design process.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, open office environment.
- Highly motivated, results-oriented, driven, with a willingness to learn.
- Read and interpret structural/architectural drawings.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Service oriented, easily build relationships with customers, and internal and external parties demonstrating tact and diplomacy.

**Qualifications**:

- Post secondary education or technical courses in Architecture, Engineering, or Drafting.
- Education in Architectural, Civil, or construction technology an asset
- Advanced knowledge of Ontario Building Code Part 4 and 9
- BCIN certification an asset
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
- Strong knowledge of Engineering/Design Programs (MiTek Sapphire, AutoCAD, Blue Beam, Planswift to name a few)
- Advanced blueprint reading

**Experience**:

- 1-3 years design and customer service
- Demonstrated experience in the design process in single and multi structures

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Innisfil, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- AutoCAD: 3 years (preferred)
