**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:
In collaboration with the Oncology Pharmacist(s), the Oncology Social Worker(s), and the Oncology physician/nursing team, the Drug Access Facilitator (DAF) is accountable to ensure that eligible patients are informed and supported in a timely fashion to access funding options both public and private ensuring access to prescribed oncology medication and communicating with the oncology health care team. This role requires a patient centered approach and stakeholder engagement in order to help patients figure out drug coverage options expediently. One of the challenges a newly diagnosed cancer patient faces is trying to understand which drugs are covered by the government, special drug programs, or private insurance.

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**:
Healthcare related post-secondary education (diploma/degree);
Regulated Technician Status in good standing with Ontario College of Pharmacists

Oncology related experience in an Acute Care hospital for a minimum of 2 years preferred

Experience with pharmacy third party payers, including online pharmacy third party billing and drug assistance program

Patient centered care and people skills

Member of Oncology Drug Access Navigators of Ontario (ODANO)

**WHO YOU ARE**:
Understanding of available sources for drug coverage - both public (Provincial and Federal), private insurance and funding algorithms;
Comprehensive knowledge of the various forms and processes required to acquire funding options

Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously, and tactfully with patients and stakeholders;
Demonstrated organizational, facilitation, problem-solving, analytical and time management skills;
Proven ability to work effectively in urgent situations and always demonstrate professionalism;
Proven drug name (generic/trade) knowledge base and working knowledge of the ODB formulary, Trillium Drug Program, CCO NDFP;
Demonstrated computer skills including EPIC, Meditech, Adobe, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Notebook, Word, Outlook);
Flexible and demonstrated ability to work independently as well as on a multidisciplinary team.

Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and quality assurance/improvement

Understanding and interpreting hospital, provincial and private insurer formularies.
