**Tasks**:

- Estimate costs and materials
- Operate CADD and other computer software systems
- Oversee apprenticeship training
- Prepare production and other reports
- Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions
- Co-ordinate and schedule activities
- Co-ordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Read blueprints and drawings
- Recommend personnel actions
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity
- Supervise workers and projects
- Train or arrange for training
- Oversee safety of operations
**Supervision**:

- 5-10 people
- Staff in various areas of responsibility
- Working groups
- Apprentices
- Heavy equipment operators, except crane

- Public works maintenance equipment operators

- Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) Certification of recognition
