The Payroll Technician is responsible for producing the payroll for retired participants of our clients' pension plans and completing the year-end process up to the production of tax slips.

**Responsibilities**:

- Process monthly benefit payments and lump-sum payments to retirees;
- Make government remittances within the prescribed deadlines;
- Plan, organize, and handle the year-end process (issuing tax slips, summaries, etc.);
- Implement and maintain necessary regression tests;
- Identify the sources of issues and propose concrete solutions;
- Understand the scope of deliverables and meet deadlines by managing and prioritizing activities;
- Work in partnership with various internal stakeholders;
- Perform any other related tasks and carry out specific assignments at the request of the immediate supervisor.

**Requirements**:

- Hold a certificate in administration, a college diploma in administration, accounting, or other relevant training;
- Have knowledge of laws, standards, and government regulations related to payroll;
- Possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand and systematize technical concepts, be organized and structured;
- Be proficient in understanding and using current computer technologies and have excellent command of MS Office software (Word, Excel, etc.);
- Being bilingual in French and English and have very good communication skills, both oral and written;
- Being a member of the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) would be an asset;
- Having experience in pension plan administration would be an asset.
