Sagkeeng Child and Family Services (SCFS) is a First Nations CFS Agency who strives to recruit inspired, accountable and driven individuals to join our diverse talented team of professionals. We are currently recruiting for permanent fulltime Direct Service Workers for our Community Office.
**Job Summary and Qualifications**
Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Back to Basic Supervisor will oversee and lead the Back to Basic unit. Provides leadership, guidance, coaching, mentoring, support, and regular supervision. The role supervises and coordinates the efforts of the team and ensures their efforts are in alignment with the agency's strategic planning, policies, and procedures.
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary degree in Social Sciences. Other acceptable combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working directly in social services sector
- Minimum of three (3) years direct Supervisory experience within Social Services.
- Three (3) years’ experience working with young people and/or young adults.
- Experience in crisis intervention, case management, and assessment of high-risk situations.
- Proven ability in implementation of service programs and delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, assessment, problem solving and treatment planning skills.
- Valid class five (5) driver’s license, a reliable vehicle; and auto-loss of use.
- The ability to speak and/or understand the Ojibway language is considered a definite asset.
- Demonstrated understanding of Ojibway culture and its communities is considered a definite asset.
- Be familiar with and understand First Nation barriers/issues/culture.
- Computer skills using MS Outlook, Word, Excel and time and attendance programs.
**Duties & Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)**:
- Provide culturally appropriate services that are centered around the physical, emotional, cultural, recreational, mental health and spiritual well-being of children and youth.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with community resources.
- Provide advice and guidance regarding the availability of resources, programs, and services available.
- Ensure understanding of funding and reporting requirements.
- Provide support and advocate for to family(s)ies for solutions.
- Follow-up with clients/families and key contacts to ensure the child is receiving and maintaining the services required.
- Documentation of client files maintained and updated.
- Data collection, submission of reports
- Case review meetings with parties involved.
- Problem solves any issues or concerns regarding services request and cancel or modify any request if required.
- Meet reporting and tracking expectations as required by Indigenous Services Canada
- Supervise unit staff and work in collaboration with other Sagkeeng CFS units.
- Develop a team workplan that ensures continual planning as an integral part of leadership, management, and direct supervision.
- Provide leadership, guidance, support, supervision, and direction and ensure understanding and alignment with organizational values, goals, and priorities.
- Promote and support the well-being of staff by referring to appropriate resources.
- Ensure performance and supervisory expectations are clear and consistent.
- Ensure Agency compliance with Serious Occurrence directive and reporting requirements.
- Ensure confidentiality and safekeeping of all agency documents and records.
- Develop and maintain a detailed work plan of activities.
- Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date, and concise work files.
- Prepare and deliver summary reports.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Executive Management.

Pay: $62,337.00-$88,646.00 per year
