Commercial Site Superintendent

The Role
The Site Supervisor is responsible for successfully meeting all project requirements as per plans, budgets timelines and specifications to ensure the quality of all work performed on site meets or exceeds client expectations.
Site Supervisors will monitor and report on all daily activities onsite to their Project Managers to ensure the progress of assigned projects on their sites and stay compliant to expected project costs. Site Supervisors will promote and ensure compliance with safety regulations on their sites to ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed.
Primary responsibilities
- Site Supervisors for Summit Brooke Construction report directly to a Project Manager for assigned projects.
- In this role the site supervisor is responsible for the following
Project oversight
- Provide direct oversight with the support and leadership of the Project Manager for assigned projects.
- Coordinate and supervise daily projects activities assigned staff and subcontractors.
- Track material and manpower hours usage to stay compliant to identified budget goals.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and site stakeholders.
- Supervising, coordinating, and scheduling the activities of all subcontractors, helpers and laborers.
- Ensure all SBC HSE & WorkSafeBC policies and procedures are strictly followed by all workers on site.
- Assist Project Manager in developing systems to manage task timelines to meet project completion date.
- Assist in writing and reviewing scopes of work to ensure accuracy of work as well as labor and materials.
- Develop detailed materials list as per completed scope of work and approved budget.
- Follow all SBC procedures of the company QA/QC plan.
Supervision
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations.
- Manage and monitor performance of sub-contractors and staff.
- Perform site scheduling, logistics and planning.
- Ensure the quality of work performed on site is as per expectations.
- Troubleshoots and communicate escalating issues to the Project Manager as appropriate.
Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with subcontractors and site personnel.
- Maintain a good relationship with clients and applicable external stakeholder.
- Prepare work progress reports for their Project Manager.
Heath and Safety
- Maintain and uphold a safe and healthy work environment through enforcement of safety standards in coordination with the Project Manager and Safety Manager.
- Ensure all workers are aware of known hazard on site.
- Ensure all workers in site have necessary PPE and that it is used properly, inspected regularly, and maintained.

Your Qualifications, Experience, and Abilities
- The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- At least 5 years relevant supervision experience.
- Experience working with a variety of structures (residential and commercial)
- Certification in Construction Management is an asset.
- Professional and safety conscious attitude.
- Basic understanding of budgeting and controls
- Basic project management knowledge and implementation
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking skills and sound judgement.
- Resilience and positive attitude when under pressure.
- Ability to work with diverse and challenging populations.
- Strong work ethic
- Civil experience an asset
- Concrete/foundation experience an asset.
- Valid Drivers license and reliable transportation is a must.
- First aid and related construction certificates
