**Duties and Responsibilities**:Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the Financial Analyst include, but are not limited to, the following:
**General ledger management & controls**
- Ensure the Company financial information adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ASPE)
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, as well as ensuring other team members have posted their relevant journals to assist a clean month end close.
- Maintain and improve a large and complex general ledger
- Ensure appropriate cut-off at month end with accruals including proper supporting documentation for revenues, expenses and capital items as well as accurate inventory
**Treasury, tax and other**
- Contribute to the protection of the assets of the business by assessing, monitoring, and designing appropriate level of internal controls.
- Preparation of audit working papers and being a key contact for the auditors with respect to the field audit for the Canadian operations.
- Ad-hoc requests / special projects as requested from the Financial leadership that continually arise from a fast
- growing business.
**Minimum Requirements**
- Accounting designation, or in the final year of attaining an accounting designation, required.
- Operational finance experience in a high-volume low dollar industry would be advantageous.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- A minimum of 2+ years’ work experience
- Track record of growth and progression in a financial role
- Experience working hands-on in a fast-paced environment
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
- Accpac / Sage 300 experience would be an asset but not required.
- Interpersonal characteristics will include professionalism, integrity, respectful, credible, pro-active and open to change
- Work-related characteristics will include being a team player, attention to detail, results driven, strong initiative & reliable.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high quality work product
- Proof of vaccination
