We are an Italian restaurant in Markham. Our goal is to bring innovative Italian dishes and a vibrant dining experience to the suburbs of Toronto. We mainly serve pizza and pasta in a beautiful dinning space that cater for around 70 guests.
Summary
As a server you will provide excellent customer service as well as collaborating with other staffs in the restaurant to ensure a smooth operation on a day to day basis. Including taking orders, delivering food, working with the POS, cleaning tables, catering to guests needs, inventory management, and dealing with the guest complaints.
As the server at Mattarello some of your key duties and responsibilities would include:
- Knowledge of all menu items
- Assessing guests preferences/allergies and making recommendations in regards to their choices
- Checking customer identification and confirming legal drinking age as per Smart Serve
- Running drinks and food
- Keeping the restaurant space clean and organized
- Polishing and distributing glassware and flatware
- Bus tables
Experience and Skillset Preferred:
- Previous experience as a server, preferably in an Italian restaurant
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine
- Excellent customer service skills
- Being able to adapt and work in a very fast paced environment
- Written & oral English skills
- Teamwork skills and leadership
- Communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Commercial awareness
- Smart serve
- 1 year experience in hospitality
