**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and lead a team of grading and excavation workers including equipment operators, labourers, and truck drivers.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, to plan and execute grading and excavation activities according to project time lines and specifications.
- Oversee the setup and operation of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, graders, and dump trucks ensuring proper utilization and maintenance.
- Conduct site assessments and surveys to determine the scope of work, identify potential hazards, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate grading and excavation according to design requirements.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulation and implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Coordinate the delivery and placement of materials such as soil, gravel, and rock to achieve desired grading and compaction levels.
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure that grading and excavation work meets project specification and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and supervisors to provide updates on project progress, issues, and changes in scope.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including equipment usage, materials consumption, and labour hours for reporting and tracking purposes.

**Requirements**:

- Additional education or training in construction management or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in grading and excavation operation with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and mentor team members to achieve project goals.
- Strong technical knowledge of grading and excavation equipment, techniques, and processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices in construction, with a commitment to promoting a culture of safety on the job.
- Valid driver's licence and clean driving record.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
