**Job purpose**
Lar-Mex is currently seeking a Refrigeration Apprentice (Construction) to join our growing team. The Refrigeration Apprentice (Construction) will complete the installation, replacement, or upgrade of gas and air-conditioning appliances/components as per Lar-Mex project mandates.
**Duties and responsibilities**
**Job Duties**:
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining gas meters, regulators, gas lines and gas appliances.
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining air conditioning appliances, basis installation skills and braze piping.
- Testing and replacing defective equipment.
- Conduct all repairs and installations as per building and trade codes.
- Keep all trades licenses valid and produce proof to the HR department.
- Carry out all assigned duties while respecting all Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
- Reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints.
- Request all required materials and equipment for repairs/installations/replacements from Lar-Mex designated suppliers.
- Respond to after-hours emergency service calls as per a pre-established on-call schedule depending on qualification and experience.
- Complete reports and documentation for all installations, testing and start-ups.
- Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
**Qualifications**
**Knowledge and Abilities**:
- Ability to troubleshoot various commercial grade equipment and components
- Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in heating/cooling systems
- Maintain clean driving record and valid driver’s license
- Take direction from the on-site Foreman
- Clean driver’s abstract may be required
**Required Skills**:
- Hold valid trades licenses (minimum G2)
- Experience in air conditioning installation
**Education**:
- Post-Secondary education.
