Halifax Seed is currently seeking an experienced **Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist** to join our team in Halifax. This is a full-time permanent position (Monday to Friday), reporting directly to the CFO.

The Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist will manage the full Accounts Payable Cycle, as well as Payroll and all other employee benefit programs.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Reconciliation (three-way matching), processing, and payment of all Vendor Invoices.
- Vendor set up and relationship management
- Reconciliation and processing of employee expenses and corporate credit cards
- Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process
- Bi-weekly Payroll processing - both salary & hourly employees
- Management of Employee Benefit Programs
- Managing statutory filings and remittances
- other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 3 years working experience in Accounts Payable
- Minimum 2 years of Payroll Processing experience with a strong understanding of labour standards for Nova Scotia & New Brunswick.
- Solid understanding of the principles of accounting and bookkeeping
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel)
- Able to work efficiently as part of a team, as well as independently
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Ability to embrace changes in process and adapt effectively
- Post-secondary education in Business or Accounting is an asset
- Payroll Certification is an asset
- Experience with Payworks is an asset
- Experience with Syspro ERP system is an asset
