JUDI.AI is a start up of experienced entrepreneurs, banking experts, software specialists and data scientists. Our 35+ employees collectively are musicians, skiers, runners, sailors, golfers and yogis. Our head office is in Vancouver although like many companies today, we have a hybrid remote/office workplace. Our management team comes from a range of high growth and blue-chip technology companies like Telus, Vision Critical, Blast Radius and Diply.
**About the Role - Can we Pique your Interest?**
You will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll. You'll be doing A/R and A/P, closing month end and supporting our accounting team. You'll check our EOR has paid our US team, help the with a SR&ED claim, and keep schedules up to date.
**Responsibilities**:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Reconcile accounts, maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are properly recorded in Xero
- A/R and A/P - preparing and tracking payments and receipts, sending and following up with vendor invoices/bills
- Accrual and recognition entries for revenue, expense, intangible assets, and commissions
- Monthly journal close & and assisting in financial reporting
- Expense claim reports review
- Ensuring completion and accuracy of supporting schedules for deferred revenue, leases, prepaid expenses, capital assets, accrued liabilities, and commissions
- Taking ownership of payroll processing and ensuring employee records are up to date
- Sales tax filings, and other compliance reporting/submissions

**Your qualifications**:
- Proven bookkeeping and payroll experience in small, high growth companies and at least 3-5 years of experience,
- Degree or diploma preferably in business, accounting, bookkeeping or relevant work experience,
- Good at asking smart questions,
- Good at diving into the details and getting stuff done,
- Good at researching solutions to new or unfamiliar tasks,
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, junior accountant or similar role
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines,
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, highly process oriented,
- Strong written and verbal communication skills,
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion,
- Experience in working Xero strongly preferred,
- Proficient in Excel, Zoho, Wagepoint/Luna,
- Nice, friendly, helpful,
- Prior experience in public practice firms may be preferrable,
- Prior experience in audit engagements may be preferrable.
**Job Type**: Part-Time, Permanent
Rate: $30-$35/ hour
Reports to: Finance Controller/Director
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- 10-20 hour per week
- Monday to Friday
Work Location: Remote in Vancouver, BC
