**Position **Description**:
Harte & Lyne Limited (HLL) is a Licensed Canadian Customs Broker and an International Freight Forwarder. HLL requires an attentive individual to work in our Import Department. This is an entry level position. On the job training is provided and opportunities for professional development through certified education is available.

**Role & Responsibilities**:

- Double checks and verifies documents
- Deals with client inquiries
- Rates, keys and files timely import customs entries (B3's)
- Arranges freight movements with carriers and related suppliers for ocean and air delivery from terminal
- Traces freight movements from pickup to delivery and conveys regular updates to clients.
- Other duties as required

- Is punctual and reliable
- Is infallibly patient and courteous towards others
- Is highly detail oriented
- Is willing to invest their own time in mastering any technical skills required
- Possesses a superior willingness to try new things, accept failure, and try again
- Knows when to admit ignorance and ask for help
- Is able to evaluate the relative importance of tasks and allocate time accordingly
- Knows how to dress and deport themselves in a professional manner and does so

**Nice to Have**:

- Is a high-school or higher level graduate
- Has some exposure to professional or clerical office work
- Has some exposure to customs and traffic procedures
- Has some exposure to word-processing and spreadsheet software
- Has high-speed Internet and computer at home
- Has a driver’s licence
- Has CIFFA certification
- Has CBSA Customs qualification

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
