Group Housing Coordinator

**Position Purpose**:
Responsible for all reservation services (greeting guest, answering phones and inquires) while providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous and professional manner through meaningful guest interactions and innovative program standards while adhering to guidelines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, fax, or mail. Identify guest reservation needs, determine appropriate room type, and verify availability of room type and rate.
- Explain guarantee, special rate, and cancellation policies to callers.
- Accommodate and document special requests and respond to any challenges found for accommodating rooming requests by communicating with appropriate individual or department.
- Oversee accuracy of room blocks and reservations.
- Answer questions about property facilities/services and room accommodations.
- Follow sales techniques to maximize revenue.
- Communicate information regarding designated VIP reservations.
- Input and access data in reservation system.
- Input group rooming lists using reservation systems, revise room blocks to maintain the required number of available rooms and keep organized files of all groups.
- Set-up proper billing accounts according to accounting policies.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisors.
- Warm and effective communications skills, both oral and written
- Must possess strong computer skills
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
- Must be able to move, lift, carry and or push item weighing more less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance
- Lightspeed/Galaxy preferred
- Familiarity with CI/TY preferred
- Well developed organizational skills with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proven abilities in handling irate customers with effective resolutions
- Post-secondary courses in hospitality or equivalent in hotel work experience preferred
- Priority will be given to those who have Hotel Front Office experience
- Will be available to work variable shifts which would include weekends and holidays

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
