As the first point of contact in the stores, our front office staff creates the first impression that customers and visitors will have when the call or walk into our shops. This person is responsible for creating an environment that promotes friendliness, and a high level of service.
Additionally, as the final point of contact on a customer’s vehicle, the detailer position leaves the final impression about the shop. This person is responsible for creating a long-lasting relationship potentially without ever interacting directly with the customer.
You will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the store and assisting the store manager and techs with keeping performance and productivity within the store at an exemplary level.
**Responsibilities would include**:
- Upkeep of overall cleanliness of the store/reception area.
- Taking calls from customers to book/offer updates on their vehicle repairs.
- Checking in/out customer vehicles.
- Receive and enter payments into the system.
- Receive and enter parts into the system.
- Preliminary wash of vehicles as they are checked in.
- Documenting vehicle images during check in process.
- Keeping the wash bay/shop clean and tidy.
- Moving and parking vehicles, picking up/delivering vehicles to correct locations.
- Ensuring that vehicles are safely locked up at the end of the workday.
- Complete interior and exterior detail according to company standards.
- Operating hoses, vacuums, and other equipment.
- Using cleaning, protective, and restorative agents to maintain and enhance the appearance of vehicles.
- Documenting vehicle mileage at the check in/checkout points
- Managing inventory and reordering supplies.
- Assist Shop Manager with other tasks as requested.
**Requirements**:
- Grade 12 education.
- Class 5 Drivers license.
- Able to drive manual transmission vehicles.
- Able to be standing, walking, crouching, and bending for extended periods.
- Flexibility to assist shop production as needed.
- Experience in the auto body industry an asset.
- Experience with MPI policies considered an asset.
- Experience with Mitchell products considered an asset.
**Shop Duties**:
- Assist with keeping parts checked in, organized, and ready to distribute to technicians.
- Performing Rust Checks on vehicles.
- Keeping shop floor clean of debris.
- Ensuring garbage's are emptied regularly.
- Documenting vehicle images during check in process.
- Moving and parking vehicles, picking up/delivering vehicles to correct locations.
- Ensuring that vehicles are safely locked up at the end of the work day.
- Performing pre/post scans using the shop provided scan tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Detailing Duties**:
- Preliminary wash of vehicles as they are checked in.
- Complete interior and exterior detail according to company standards.
- Operating hoses, vacuums, and other equipment.
- Using cleaning, protective, and restorative agents to maintain and enhance the appearance of vehicles.
- Documenting vehicle mileage at the check in/checkout points.
- Managing inventory and reordering supplies.
- Check fuel level and warning lights on the dash.
- Inspect windshield for damage.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Grade 12 education.
- Experience or interest in the auto body industry an asset.
- Class 5 Drivers license.
- Able to drive Manual Transmission Vehicles.
- Able to be standing, walking, crouching, and bending for extended periods.
- Flexibility to assist shop production as needed.
