**POSITION OVERVIEW**: The Student Advocacy Assistant works in conjunction with the Student Advocacy Officers, Student Affairs Division, Dean’s Office, Registrar’s Office, Faculty and other staff to administer the school’s policies and advocate for students through the use of appeals for various processes throughout the College.

**WHO WE ARE**: Alexander College is a private post-secondary institution serving approximately 4,000 students every year. Students choose to study at Alexander College to complete their Associate of Arts or Science degree or take a variety of University Transfer courses. **REQUIREMENTS**:
- Minimum of 1 year work experience in a post-secondary institution is an asset but not a requirement
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, educational background in Criminology or Psychology is an asset
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong ability to take initiative and complete tasks as assigned
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Excellent time-management skills
- Strong ability to communicate easily and fluidly through technology and social media
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Receive and File Appeals Related to Student Advocacy
- Screen student appeal requests to ensure there is sufficient evidence
- Oversee Scheduling for Student Advocacy Related Interventions
- Coordinate and schedule meetings between students, the Dean’s Office, and Registrar’s Officer in relation to processes regarding misconduct, appeals, expulsions, accommodations, etc.
- Promote Advocacy and Administrative Processes throughout the College
- Be the point of contact for students inquiring about the appeals process
- Present at New Student Orientation
- Perform Chegg and Course Hero takedowns for faculty
